Country-wise the school has risen from the forties into the national top ten — position 3 out of 623 O-Level schools in 2002, 4th out of 754 in 2003, and 5th out of 802 in 2004. Government selects about 95% of our ex-Form-4 students into government-owned A-Level schools each year.

Admissions

Two entry points exist each year: Form One, after primary school, and Form Five, after O-Level results are released. Entrance exams for both are held at several centres — not only at Msolwa itself — so students from Dodoma, Dar es Salaam, and elsewhere in Morogoro Region don't have to travel far to sit for them.

START PROJECT

Msolwa School was established in January 1994 with a Form One group. It was decided that Msolwa Village in Kisanga Ward as an ideal site. The place is about 35 miles West of Mikumi Town (or 70 miles South West of Kilosa town). The site is a great Iyovi Valley that houses some seven villages. It is built by the great local River Iyovi and bordered by large ranges of mountains all round. The students population has reached the highest figure of about 440, with 40% being girls.

Our Patron Saint — St. Gaspare Bertoni: Gaspare Bertoni was born in Verona on 9 October 1777. He was ordained a priest on 20 September 1800 and founded the Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata of Our Lord Jesus Christ (the Stigmatines) on 4 November 1816. He died in 1853. He was declared Venerable in 1966, beatified in 1975, and canonized as a saint by Pope John Paul II on 1 November 1989.
